Free Advice from Essex County Fire & Safety

Stephen Metcalfe, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for South Basildon and East Thurrock recently met with officers from the Essex County Fire & Safety service.

Stephen discovered that as well as dealing with fires and traffic accident the service has a huge role to play in fire prevention. Essex County Fire & Safety Officers offer a number of services to residents across Essex including Basildon & Thurrock.

One of the services they offer each autumn is a FREE electric Blanket safety test, and this year is no exception. Officers from Essex County Fire & Safety Service in partnership with The All About Centre will be available to carry out the checks on Thursday 20^th September between 10am and 2pm at The All About Centre, Leinster Road, Laindon, Essex SS15 5NX.

Also available are FREE Home Fire Safety Checks, these checks can advise on the placement and fitting of Smoke Alarms and can provide and fit them free of Charge!

Stephen commented, “Fire and home safety have improved dramatically over recent years and this is due, in no small part, to the hard work of the officers of the Essex County Fire & Safety Service. But there is always more that can be done. I would encourage everyone to take up the offer of both a free electric blanket test and a free home safety check.”
